Family Tree

Reaching out; staying tethered!

I have observed that it is quite usual, especially in later life, to wonder about your ancestry. Where your family sits in the big scheme of things, and the relationships, stories and "connections" that exist outside your immediate experiences.

Maybe I was always particularly curious or maybe I just enjoyed a puzzle. I can recall sitting down with my father in a holiday camping tent when I was 9 and taking rough notes about his family. Over the years my mother added snippets about her family.

Decades later I started more academic research and visiting places both in Australia and the British Isles that are significant in the story. So genealogy and travel became deeply entwined!

I would like to share what I have discovered, but with the story being 'family personal' I have decided to split off a separate site that is by invitation only!
